Richmond Hill City Council will hold a planning retreat for council members and senior staffers this weekend on Jekyll Island. The retreat will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Westin Jekyll Island, 110 Ocean Way, according to a legal notice from the city.

It will continue from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday.

Agenda items include topics such as “roles and expectations,” and “council issues for discussion and goal setting,” as well as a possible meeting with the Bryan County Commission.

Such events, in some cases facilitated by outside parties, have becoming increasingly common in recent years, with both the Bryan County Commission and Bryan County Board of Education holding similar out-of-county meetings.
