RH Council discusses City Center finances

The Richmond Hill City Center’s financial plan was up for discussion Tuesday at the request of Richmond Hill City Council members during a regular meeting held in City Hall.

Council members asked at a previous meeting that City Manager Mike Melton take a look at the center’s finances to make sure it was on track to becoming financially stable.

Melton said Tuesday that despite a “rough year” in 2010, 2011 has been much better, and he expects the center to do well in years to come.

“In 2012 it looks like it’ll be an even better year yet,” Melton told the council.

Melton also added he had spoken with Andrea Powers, the City Center’s interim director, who told him September 2011 had been the best month to date.

“Every month we’re improving,” Melton said. “Things are certainly looking up for the City Center.”
