Richmond Hill City Council awarded two distinct honors at Tuesday night’s regular meeting.
The Architectural Excellence Award was presented to Jarrell CPA, a Richmond Hill-based bookkeeping and accounting firm, for their efforts in groundskeeping and signage improvements around their office using grant funds from the Downtown Development Authority.
“This award is presented to recognize excellence within the city of Richmond Hill that strives to protect the unique character and integrity of areas that embody significant elements of Richmond Hill’s history and presents a positive image along key entry points to the community,” said Mayor Carpenter. “The recipient has added value to our community in a way that establishes an inviting and welcoming character along the city’s highly visible corridors.”
The second award, dubbed the “Difference Maker” award by Carpenter, was given to Tyler Moody, the general manager of Publix Store #1154 in Richmond Hill, for his efforts in helping the community recover post-Hurricanes Debby and Helene.
Under [Moody’s] leadership, Publix became more than just a grocery store, it became a lifeline”, continued Carpenter.
“He made sure families knew when essential items were available. He kept residents informed through clear, timely updates that helped them plan wisely and stay safe. But Tyler didn’t stop there. He helped recognize the donation of hundreds of cases of water. He brought together a team of volunteers who unloaded supplies, supported first responders and showed up wherever help was needed.”
“Because true leadership isn’t just about running a business, it’s about showing up with people when they need it most,” Carpenter ended.
