The Richmond Hill Police Department made three arrests Friday involving the manufacture of methamphetamine following a traffic stop.

April Marie Owens, 24, of Richmond Hill, Lisa Devereax, 26, of Chatham County, and Jason Cless, 35, of Effingham County, were arrested after an investigation, initiated by Cpl. Jack Frost, showed the three were in the Richmond Hill area to obtain items used to cook meth, according to a press release from the Richmond Hill Police Department.

As a result of the arrest, meth, pseudoephedrine-containing products, Coleman camp fuel, lye and other items were found.

Nuclear plant's safety discussed at meeting

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will discuss the 2017 safety performance of the Hatch Nuclear Power Plant during an open house from 4-6 p.m. April 24 in Room 171 of the Southeastern Technical College, 3001 East First St., Vidalia. The two-unit Hatch plant is located near Baxley, about 20 miles south of Vidalia, and is operated by Southern Nuclear Operating Co. NRC employees responsible for plant inspections, including the resident inspectors based full-time at the site, will be available to discuss its performance.
