A stop light in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 144 at Hwy. 17 was blown from its perch Monday afternoon during strong winds, snarling southbound traffic.

The Richmond Hill Police Department was on the scene around 2:30 p.m.to secure the still-working light to a police truck to keep it from swinging into passing cars while waiting for repair crews.
