A Richmond Hill man was arrested Monday and another is wanted after a Tybee Island man was allegedly beaten with a gun, according to Tybee Island police.
Jack Shawn Foster Carter, 28, of Richmond Hill was charged aggravated assault and trespassing for his connection to the beating.
And a warrant is out for the arrest of Kerry Allen Moore, 22, on charges of aggravated assault, burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and battery.
According to Tybee Island police reports, the two men – armed with guns – allegedly entered Monday night an apartment on the 100 block of Jones Street. A woman told police that when she attempted to call 911, Carter threw her on the floor, pointed a gun at her and said, “Shut up or I will kill you,” the police report stated.
At the same time, Moore and another man started fighting. The man had wounds to his head and neck, and the woman told police he’d been beaten with one of the guns.
Shortly thereafter, Tybee police caught up with the man later identified as Carter. And Thursday, a Tybee municipal judge signed a warrant for Moore’s arrest. According to police, it is believed Moore has since fled the area.
Carter was booked at the Tybee Island Police Department on Monday night and was released Tuesday on a $15,000 bond. He’s expected to face the charges in Tybee Island Municipal Court on Oct. 19.
