Animal at large
Jan. 18 – A Brown Thrasher Court resident reported around 6 p.m. that a neighbor’s dog jumped into her yard. While the officer was responding to the incident, the dog jumped a fence and began running loose in the street. Bryan County Animal Control responded and secured the dog at the Bryan County Animal Shelter. The officer told the dog’s owner to contact animal control and cited him.

Accidental gun shot
Jan. 14 – A Richmond Hill man told deputies around 9 p.m. that he accidently shot himself in the left hand while taking apart his Glock .4 caliber hand gun in a car parked in his driveway. The man said he forgot a round was still in the chamber. Bryan County EMS transported the man to Memorial University Medical Center hospital in Savannah.

Terroristic threats
Jan. 7 – A warrant for a Richmond Hill man was sought after the man allegedly made terroristic threats against a deputy around 9 p.m., during a basketball game at the Richmond Hill High School. The deputy told the man to leave the school after he allegedly tried to start a fight with someone. The deputy followed the man, a suspected gang member, out the school to make sure that he left and told the man that gang activities would not be tolerated at the school. The man told the deputy that he was hiding behind his badge and he would “drop you like your hot” before driving away. The deputy took that comment as a threat to his life and said he would issue a warrant for the man’s arrest.
Jan. 15 – A Richmond Hill man was arrested around 9:10 p.m. on Tivoli Trail Road and charged with making terroristic threats and obstruction of officers. The man was confrontational and had interfered with an earlier incident on Belfast River Road, in which one brother hit another. The man tried to hit a deputy and was aggressive when deputies tried to handcuff him.
Jan. 16 – An Ellabell man reported around 2:30 p.m. that a neighbor had threatened to “hurt him” and “beat him.” The man said the alleged offender had a grudge against him over a current burglary investigation.

Trespassing
Jan. 5 – A Richmond Hill man was arrested around 4:15 p.m. near the Richmond Hill Middle School and charged with criminal trespass and obstruction of officers. The man was walking toward the middle school gym when a deputy recognized him as a former high school student who was expelled and banned from all Bryan County School property in 2007 for fighting and possessing a knife. The deputy told the man to leave several times, but he refused and stuck his finger in the deputy’s face. He also refused to give deputies his identification and proper address.

DUI
Jan. 16 – An Ellabell man was arrested around 12:20 a.m. on Toni Branch at Lake Drive in Ellabell and charged with DUI, a guard line drug violation and having expired tags on his vehicle. No other information was available.   
Jan. 17 – An Ellabell man was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Black Creek Church Road in Ellabell after being pulled over for not having tags displayed. He admitted to smoking marijuana a little while before the arrest. He refused a blood test.

Burglary
Jan. 16 – An Ellabell man reported around 2 p.m. that someone broke into his home on Hwy. 204 and took military-style overalls, worth $100, a volt meter, worth $175, a multi meter, worth $175, and six commemorative Dale Earnhardt Sr. Zippo lighters, worth $120 combined.
Jan. 17 – An Ellabell man told deputies around 1:25 p.m. that someone broke into a business on Hwy. 204 and took a television worth $3,800.

Theft
Jan. 15 – A Richmond Hill man told deputies around 9:45 a.m. that someone took pills from his Bailey Plantation Drive home.
Jan. 16 – An Ellabell woman told deputies around 11:25 a.m. that her boyfriend took her fleece jacket, worth $50, and $110, and refused to give it back.
Jan. 16 – An Ellabell man told deputies around 11 a.m. that someone took copper tubing from an air conditioning unit in a vacant trailer on his Wade Carter Road property.
Jan. 17 – Deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to a power substation on Daniel Siding Loop Road in Richmond Hill after two men reported the grounding and fence around the station had been cut and 300 feet of copper wire, worth $5,000, was missing.
