Police blotters for Feb. 7

The following reports are on file in the Bryan County Sheriff's Department:

DUI
Jan. 26 – A Sylvania man was arrested around 10:10 p.m. on Hwy. 280 in Pembroke and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana. The man was arrested after being found asleep in his vehicle after being stopped for two hours following a fatal car accident on that road. Deputies saw marijuana residue on the man’s lap and found contraband in his pants pocket and center console of the vehicle. The man’s eyes were bloodshot and glossy, and he refused a blood test.
Jan. 31 – A Pembroke man was arrested around 10:50 p.m. on Wilma Edwards Road in Ellabell and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana. The man was arrested after a deputy saw him hit the white fog line. When the deputy approached the car, he saw that the man had an entire honey bun in his mouth. The deputy smelled marijuana and alcohol on the man. The man agreed to a breath test, which was positive for alcohol, and the deputy later found marijuana in the man’s car.

Theft/Larceny
Jan. 24 – A Savannah man and an Ellabell man were arrested around 9:30 a.m. on Walker Road in Ellabell and charged with theft by taking and criminal trespass. The men were caught while attempting to take car parts from two vehicles. 

Burglary
Jan. 25 – An Ellabell woman reported around 9:45 a.m. that someone broke into her Black Creek Church Road home and took mattresses, towels, washcloths, cat figurines, ceramic love dolls, a large throw rug and a mirror, worth $2,279 combined.
Jan. 26 – The manager of a business on Hwy. 204 in Ellabell reported that someone broke in and took two flat screen TVs worth $700 combined.
Jan. 31 – A Pembroke woman reported around 2:25 p.m. that someone took her air conditioning unit worth $5,000 from her Jenny Lane home. 

Theft by taking
Jan. 28 – An Ellabell woman reported around 10:35 p.m. that someone took an air conditioning unit worth $4,000 from her Hwy. 204 home.
Jan. 29 – An Ellabell woman reported around 12:50 p.m. that her son’s dirt bike, worth $1,100, was taken from her Atkinson Road home.
Jan. 29 – An Ellabell woman reported around 9 a.m. that someone took the radio face, worth $100, from her vehicle parked on Black Creek Church Road in Ellabell.
Jan. 31 – A Pembroke man reported around 10 p.m. that someone took a set of keys from his backpack at the Bryan County High School.
