After two years’ investigation, the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit called for the arrest Wednesday of a Pembroke man in the case of a January 2014 hit-and-run fatality.

Kristopher Brian Fountain, of Coursey Cove Lane in Pembroke, was booked into the Bulloch County Jail on Wednesday afternoon on charges of homicide by vehicle/DUI, hit and run (leaving the scene of an accident), homicide by vehicle/leaving the scene, too fast for conditions, speeding DUI, and reckless driving, according to jail records.

Ogeechee Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Michael Muldrew, who is slated to prosecute the case, said Thursday that Fountain, 26, was involved in the death of Thomas W. Lang, a 16-year-old of a Roberts Road, Ellabell, address.

The fatal accident took place in the Eldora Farms area of Bulloch County, near Ellabell, he said.
Georgia State Patrol Post 45 reports by Trooper Brian Scott stated the accident occurred Jan. 24, 2014, around 6:55 p.m. on Eldora Farms Road.

Reports state Fountain was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado when he attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of him. When he resumed the lane, he veered off onto the west shoulder and struck Lang, who was standing on the side of the road.
Fountain’s vehicle traveled almost a mile before breaking down, according to reports.

Responding troopers turned the investigation over to the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.

The district attorney’s office investigator Jake Wynn also became involved in the investigation, and issued warrants for Fountain’s arrest earlier this week, reports stated.

Fountain is being held without bond, awaiting a court appearance before a judge, according to jail records.
