Pembroke drug bust nets three arrests

A drug bust on April 11 in Pembroke resulted in three arrests and discovery of marijuana plants at a home on Benton Street.

According to a press release from the Pembroke Police Department, just before 10:30 a.m. April 11, authorities arrested Jonny E. Kelly Jr. for possession of cocaine, Jairus Kelly for possession of marijuana and cocaine and Marcus Kelly with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and manufacturing marijuana.

At the home, authorities discovered multiple marijuana plants, a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale and cocaine at the home located at 72 Benton Street. The estimated value of the marijuana is $3,000, the release states.

According to the release, an infant child that was asleep in the residence was released to family members.

The arrests were a combined effort from officers at the Pembroke Police Department, deputies from the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department, agents of the Tri-Circuit Drug Task Force and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
