Man wanted in Richmond Hill

Area law enforcement authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a Richmond Hill man who is wanted on drug charges.

The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) is seeking 30-year-old Michael Paul “MP” Oliver of Richmond Hill. Oliver is wanted in connection with a two-month-long investigation during which Oliver sold crack cocaine on two separate occasions, both in Bryan County. 

Oliver is described as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inches, 150 pounds with brown eyes, and black hair normally cut low and is known to have a mustache and/or goatee. 

Oliver’s last known addresses are 2508 Harris Trail Road, 579 Rice Gate Drive and 201 Casey Drive, all in Richmond Hill.

Anyone with information concerning Oliver’s whereabouts is asked to call CNT at 912-652-3900 or CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020, where callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

Nuclear plant's safety discussed at meeting

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will discuss the 2017 safety performance of the Hatch Nuclear Power Plant during an open house from 4-6 p.m. April 24 in Room 171 of the Southeastern Technical College, 3001 East First St., Vidalia. The two-unit Hatch plant is located near Baxley, about 20 miles south of Vidalia, and is operated by Southern Nuclear Operating Co. NRC employees responsible for plant inspections, including the resident inspectors based full-time at the site, will be available to discuss its performance.
