A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident Dec. 27 in Pembroke.

Pembroke police Detective Kelly Price said Olajuwon Foy was arrested without incident Dec. 29 and charged with shooting Christine Anderson, who sustained superficial wounds in the incident.

A Pembroke Police Department incident report states that an eyewitness, who was working on a skill saw on his front porch in the 400 block of Williams Road, said he saw Anderson and Foy walking to the eyewitness’s house from Singleton Lane. A black car pulled into the eyewitness’s driveway, and Anderson got into the vehicle on the passenger side. According to the eyewitness, Foy said, “You are not going nowhere,” pulled a gun out of his jacket and shot Anderson.

The eyewitness said Anderson told the driver to go to a hospital. Meanwhile, Foy ran with the gun into the nearby woods.

PPD was later informed that a female with a gunshot wound went to Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. Anderson was treated and released, Price said.

Foy has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Price said Foy was in the Bryan County Jail as of Monday.
