Lane clousures set for I-95
Will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Friday

Two of the southbound lanes of I-95 between I-16 and Richmond Hill will be closed tonight and Thursday night for repaving, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation

A DOT news release said two lanes will be closed 7 p.m.-7 a.m., beginning today and continuing through Friday morning, weather permitting. The affected area is southbound in Chatham/Bryan Counties, starting near mile marker 101 and continuing to mile marker 86.

Contractors will be milling the existing surface a repaving the area, according to DOT spokesman Craig Solomon.

"This is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary," Soloman said. "Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction zone."

He added that message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
