A North Carolina man was killed and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident near Interstate 95 in Liberty County Friday morning.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jerry Taylor, Michael Marsh, 52, of Siler City, N.C., was traveling southbound on I-95 in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee along with three passengers.  As he approached mile marker 69, Taylor said Marsh had taken a drink of a beverage and began to cough.  Taylor said Marsh, who was in the left lane, left the road and traveled about 200 feet into a ditch.  The vehicle continued into the wood line, where it struck a tree and was spun counter-clockwise before it came to rest.
Marsh was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.  The three injured passengers — Veronica Cheeks, 44, Benecia Nettles, 18, and Jonathan Nettles, 17, all with Siler City addresses — were taken to a Savannah medical facility. Their conditions and relationships to Marsh were not available at press time.
