ATLANTA — Gov. Nathan Deal has signed legislation that increases the age requirements for children to be in child safety systems in cars registered in Georgia.
Deal signed the bill Monday, according to a notice from his office.
The new law will require children under 8 years old to be in a child seat, with an exemption for children who meet height and weight criteria.
The new law raises the age requirement from 6 and younger to 8 and younger.
