A Fort Stewart soldier was involved in a domestic shooting on Savannah's Southside Tuesday morning, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Information Officer Gena Moore has confirmed.

Just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Woodley Road after receiving calls of a shooting.
"Officers found a man lying in his front yard suffering from a gunshot wound," the SCMPD release read. "His wife, the alleged shooter, was still in the area. She had run to get help. Both people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The man is suffering from what are believed to be life threatening injuries. The woman, a soldier in the U.S. Army is also being treated. SCMPD Violent Crime detectives responded to the scene and are investigating."
