A vehicle chase ended around 4 p.m. Dec. 19 in Richmond Hill after the suspect vehicle, being tailed by Macintosh County and Midway law enforcement, hit a parked car in the parking lot of Molly McPherson’s Scottish Pub on Hwy. 17.
City police were notified by dispatch of the vehicle in pursuit entering the county from the south on I-95.
Cpl. Richard Olesky Jr. said he positioned his patrol car in the northbound lane on Hwy. 17 to block traffic in case the suspect vehicle exited the interstate.
The suspect vehicle entered Hwy. 17 at I-95 Exit 87 and was chased by two Macintosh County patrol cars and one Midway patrol car.
When the chase ended at Molly McPherson’s, Olesky said Macintosh and Midway law officers surrounded the car and removed the occupants.
Olesky responded to the parking lot regarding the private property accident.

DUI
Dec. 9 – A Richmond Hill man was arrested around 4:45 p.m. on Hwy. 17 near Kroger Drive after a car accident and refusing to take a breath test and other sobriety tests.
Dec. 11 – A Savannah man was arrested around 12:05 a.m. on Hwy. 17 near the KOA and charged with DUI-Under 21 years of age. The man was pulled over for having non-working tag lights. The police officer smelled alcohol and the man agreed to a breath test, which was positive for alcohol. A 17-year-old Richmond Hill woman and another 20-year-old Savannah man were also arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. The woman admitted to owning a bottle of rum that was in the car, and the man admitted to drinking and agreed to a breath test, which was positive for alcohol.
Dec. 18 – A Savannah man was arrested around 4 a.m. on Hwy. 17 near Sommers Boulevard and charged with DUI-Under 21 years of age. The man was pulled over for having a non-working headlight. The police officer smelled alcohol and the man agreed to a breath test, which was positive for alcohol. A Richmond Hill woman was also arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol after she agreed to a breath test, which was positive for alcohol.
Public drunkenness
Dec. 11 – A Savannah woman was arrested around 9:25 p.m. at Clyde’s Market and charged with public drunkenness. Police were called to the store after the woman was reported staggering and causing a disturbance.
Disorderly Conduct
Dec. 18 – A Richmond Hill man and a Brooklet man were arrested around 11:55 p.m. in the parking lot of Augie’s Pub on Hwy. 17 and charged with disorderly conduct. A police officer caught the men fighting in the parking lot and arrested them.
