The body of a Florida man reported missing in February was found this week in a wooded area near Richmond Hill.

The remains of Tim Jaskiewicz were found in his pickup in woods along Highway 144 near mile marker 24, according to Bryan County Coroner Bill Cox.

A couple riding on a four-wheeler came across Jaskiewicz’s Toyota Tundra, Cox said. He added it appeared Jaskiewicz had been dead for about two months.

An autopsy showed no signs of foul play, Cox said. The coroner did not elaborate on the cause of death, but did say “it was self-inflicted.”

Jaskiewicz, 51, grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and had been living in Apollo Beach, Florida, Cox said. He reportedly came to Richmond Hill to visit a friend and was last seen Feb. 15.

Jaskiewicz left behind his personal belongings at the friend’s house. Jaskiewicz's bank account and credit cards have not been used since, according to investigators.

His family had established a Facebook page reporting his disappearance and asking for help finding him.
