Bryan County Emergency Services recently raised and donated $1,000 to Komen of Coastal Georgia in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During October firefighters and medics of Bryan County are wearing pink uniform shirts they bought and sold to show that they care and they support breast cancer awareness.
“As firefighter/medics, we see the suffering that cancer causes and most every one of us or our families has been affected in some way by cancer. If wearing pink T-shirts for a month leads someone to have themselves checked, or perhaps offers a touch of support to someone suffering from cancer, and raising money to help out then the effort is worth it,” BCES Chief Freddy Howell said.
