Recent crimes reported to the Richmond Hill Police Department include this accounty of the battery of a police officer:

Dec. 14 — Officers responded around 7 p.m. to the Motel 6 off Highway 17 in response to a mother and son arguing. Upon arrival, the Hinesville woman told officers her son had several active warrants out of Chatham County and possibly other counties. The man then said he didn’t and claimed he was someone else. Because the two stories conflicted, the officer attempted to put the man in handcuffs. The man then struck the officer and continued to fight with him until the officer had to use his Taser. The man was also charged with obstruction of a police officer and giving false information to an officer.
