A flash flood watch has been issued for Bryan County by the National Weather Service.

The warning is in effect through midnight and it cautions that severe weather, even tornadoes, is possible.

“Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms will impact Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia today into this evening ahead of a slow moving cold front. A few of these thunderstorms could become severe. In addition, there will be a risk for flash flooding. Some areas have received as much as 3-7 inches of rain since Sunday. Any additional rainfall could lead to areas of flash flooding. Rain should gradually end overnight. The Savannah-Hilton Head Airport recorded 6.61 inches of rain Monday afternoon.”

Coastal Liberty and McIntosh County are not included in the watch area, though those areas will also have bad weather.
