Autopsy ordered in North Bryan death

An autopsy will be performed on the victim found inside a burning vehile near Ellabell Friday night, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Bryan County Emergency Services was dispatched to the scene around 11:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Olive Branch Road and Heape Road behind the Olive Branch Baptist Church. A body was found inside the vehile after the fire was extinguished.

The deceased has not yet been identified. Autopsies in such cases allow investigators to determine if the victim was dead before the fire began or died due to the fire.
