Area's storm watch lifted

The National Weather Service has lifted a severe thunderstorm warch for Southeast Georgia, including Bryant County.

When first issued about 7 this morning, the watch was to be in effect until 2 p.m. Shortly after noon, however, the service's Charleston office lifted the watch. Rain will continue for a time, but the chance for storms has diminished, the service said.

Storms riding a cold front through Georgia overnight already sparked some storms and prompted warning, including some tornado watches in north and centeral Georgia.

The watch means storms are possible, not imminent. Officials encourage you to keep up with media and to be cautious outside.
