The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team made a number of crystal methamphetamine-related arrests last week following several investigations.

CNT arrested 11 people, including two from Bryan County, and assisted with a search warrant in a neighboring jurisdiction which resulted in additional arrests. The search warrant was connected to CNT’s investigations, according to a CNT news release issued Friday.

On April 18, CNT arrested 27-year-old Amanda Walker of Savannah, 30-year-old Sarah Kment of Richmond Hill and 28-year-old Brandon Elrod of Ellabell and 32-year-old James Tyson of Savannah.

Walker and Kment were posting as escorts on Backpage, CNT said. CNT, who is familiar with Walker from previous arrests, arranged a meeting with an undercover agent. During the meeting, all parties agreed to exchange crystal methamphetamine and sexual favors for money.  Elrod and Tyson were also arrested in connection with the operation, according to CNT.

Other arrests were made during separate operations.

All persons arrested remain in the Chatham County Detention Center. The investigations are ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are expected.
