Pembroke City Council voted unanimously Monday night to keep its millage rate at 10 mills, which will raise taxes on property owners by an estimated 17.87 percent.
The increase is due to higher property values, and will mean taxes on a $100,000 home will rise by approximately $40. Taxes on a non-homestead property valued at $300,000 will go up about $120, officials say.
Pembroke is facing rising costs for maintenance and operation as well as population growth, officials say. Property owners will see the increase on their 2024 tax bills.
