A storm, Olga, which the National Weather Service has labeled a subtropical storm, has developed just west of Puerto Rico over the Mona Passage.

The out-of-season storm is not expected to threaten the Southeastern United States.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the northern coast of the Dominican Republic from Cabo Engano westward to Bahio de Manzanillo at the border with Haiti. A tropical storm watch is in effect for the southern coast of Dominican Republic.

Olga is headed west at 15 mph and forecasters say they expect her to remain on that course.
