O’Neal awarded KADA scholarship

Ava O’Neal has been awarded the $250 Keeping Alivea’s Dream Alive scholarship for 2022.

O’Neal, a member of the Richmond Hill Middle School band, will be attending Richmond Hill High School in the fall and plans to continue performing in the RHHS Band Program.

The scholarship is named in honor of Alivea Cox, who spent three years in the Richmond Hill Middle School Band. During her time, she demonstrated excellence in performing on the French horn, and consistently demonstrated positive character traits through her support of of other students and dedication to the overall band program and other school activities.

After her passing, the “Keeping Alivea’s Dream Alive” organization established an award and scholarship to be presented each year to a student who has demonstrated excellence in performance and character while in the RHMS Band.
