The public is encouraged to nominate a local active military member as part of a monthly contest sponsored by Hupman Real Estate Group.

The group said "We are so thankful to live and work with so many military members in our area. To honor and recognize our local active military, we are proud to announce a $1,000 giveaway to a local military member and their family."

The contest ends midnight on Sunday, June 30.

The real estate group said it presented a $1,000 check to the Bobby Linton family for the First Responder contest in May.

They plan to give a $1,000 check to a local teacher in August, and to a family in December.
