The Lions Club annual Installation of Officers meeting was held at Carey Hillards June 26. Club President Laura Evans presented service pins to members for their years of dedicated service to the Lions Club and community.

The recipients were: 40 years – Bill Hurst, 20 years – Dale Mitchum, 15 years – Ron Stover and Frank Sisco, 10 years – Harold Fowler, 5 years – Mike Bush, Burnard Exley, Scott Yackel, Billy Albritton, Dell Turner and Michael Van Der Heydon.

The Lions Clubs also has a sight committee and helps provide glasses for children and adults in need. Evans presented an award to Sisco for his many years of service on this committee during the meeting as well.

The following officers for the year 2007-2008 were installed by Billy Albritton: Board of Directors – Dell Turner, Mike Bush, Jeff Derrick and Burnard Exley; President – Ron Stover; Chaplain – Burnard Exley; Tail Twister – Bill Hurst; Lion Tamer – Mike Bush; and Secretary – Ouieda Sisco.

The Lions Club will be participating in the Military Appreciation Day at Fort Stewart on July 4, providing hamburgers. They are looking forward to a great year.
