Several city and county agencies are again teaming up for the National Night Out and Back to School Bash, to be held Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mike Foxworth Rec Center, 104 Ash Branch Road in Pembroke.

There will be food, prizes, free back to school haircuts and free school supplies. More than 300 backpacks were given out during the event last year, according to officials with Bryan County Family Connection, one of the sponsors. 

The City of Pembroke and Downtown Development Authority of Pembroke are also sponsors, along with Bryan County Drug Free Coalition and Bacon Entertainment.
