The Defense Department announced Friday the deaths of two Fort Stewart soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Joshua A. Born, 25, of Niceville, Fla., and Sgt. Timothy J. Conrad Jr., 22, of Roanoke, Va., died Thursday in Nangarhar Province of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit. The soldiers were assigned to the 549th Military Police Company, 385th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), XVIII Airborne Corps.
The soldiers were posthumously promoted and awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge and NATO Medal.
