Marine Corps Pfc. Joseph C. Ferreira recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Training is designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.

Ferreira is a 2008 graduate of Bryan County High School in Pembroke.
