Technical Sgt. Brian Achen of Ellabell has been named Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for 2011 for the 165th Airlift Wing of Georgia Air National Guard.

Achen serves as an aerospace propulsion technician for the 165th Maintenance Group.

He is a former member of the U.S. Army serving with the 1/75th Ranger Battalion.
