SAVANNAH — Military officials say an Army helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.
The Savannah Morning News reports (http://bit.ly/JtTLPn) that the chopper landed Monday afternoon after the crew discovered that its hydraulics had failed. No injuries were reported.
Army Capt. Chad Ashe said pilots of the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter had traveled about 25 miles from the base when they noticed the failure around 2:30 p.m. and headed back to the base.
The 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division is investing the cause of the hydraulic failure.
