Meet Cody Brown
Cody-Brown

Cody Brown, a senior at BCHS, is a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions, plays on the golf team and plans to be an attorney.

Where are you originally from and how long have you lived in Bryan County?

I am originally from Bleckley County, Georgia, and I have lived in Bryan County for approximately three and a half years.

What do you like about Bryan County High School?

I like the teachers the most. They are nice, courteous, funny, and overall very helpful. Mr. Corbin, Mr. Elliott, Ms. Foxworth, and Ms. Ward have all taught me a lot in their individual subjects and have allowed me to grow into the mature young adolescent I am today.

What is your favorite subject or subjects?

I have a lot of different favorite subjects. For example, I enjoy trigonometry, but I also like literature as well. Economics is an outstanding class, but psychology is too. It is really hard to choose just one.

What extracurricular activities are you in?

I participate in SADD, which is Students Against Destructive Decisions. As a part of SADD, we work to ensure the safety and well being of our fellow classmates, and we also bring up awareness on topics such as drinking and driving and other harmful choices a teenager may make. While I have only joined this year, I enjoy it a great deal because it places a sense of accomplishment inside me.

When you are not in school, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I am also on the golf team and have been so for the past two years, so golfing is naturally a good part of my day. I also like to play video games.

What type of career do you think you'll go after?

After I go to college I will go to Mercer University. I have not decided on my major, but I have decided on my career. I will be an attorney, which is a great deal of the reason I am going to Mercer University since they have guaranteed acceptance into their law programs.

What else do you like to do?

Well, as dorky as this may sound, I enjoy reading. One of my current favorites at the moment is the controversial novel, "The Kite Runner." Also, 1984 and A Brave New World are great novels that I enjoyed immensely.

What do you like about living in Bryan County / North Bryan County?

While I prefer living in a city, the rural area of Pembroke is calm and peaceful. It feels good to be able to walk down the street and not have your vision blocked by a line of traffic.

If you could change one thing about North Bryan County, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about North Bryan County, it would be its population. As a student among a class of one hundred thirty-two, it comes to me as a great shock that some people think of this small graduating class as big. I realize a bigger population would mean less one on one time with my teachers, but I also see our school would be made more worldly with more students.

What is your favorite book and why?

What I like most about "The Kite Runner" is the narrator's ability to transport the reader to a once great Afghanistan.

Where is your favorite place to visit?

My favorite place to visit is the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia.
