Man charged in four murders has ties to Hinesville

Former Hinesville resident Lam Luong, 37 was formerly charged with four counts of capital murder for his alleged involvement in the deaths of four young children he reportedly threw off a bridge in Bayou La Batre, Ala.
According to an Associated Press news report, Luong told authorities that he drove to the Dauphin Island bridge and dropped the children from a span that reaches 80 feet in places.
Missing and presumed dead were 4-month-old Danny Luong; 1-year-old Lindsey Luong; 2-year-old Hannah Luong; and 3-year-old Ryan Phan.
Luong is charged with four counts of capital murder.
Public records at the Liberty County Courthouse indicate that Luong resided at 1144 South Main Street, Lot 5 in Hinesville as recently as October in 2007.
The files show that he was arrested on Oct. 10, on charges of possession of cocaine. He bonded out of jail on Oct. 12 on a $1,200 bond through Fussell Bonding.
Luong's case was scheduled to appear before the Liberty County Grand Jury in next month (Feb. 2008).
