Richmond Hill High School student Emily Martin, 15, is reportedly in intensive care at Memorial Hospital following an automobile accident on Sept. 22 in Savannah.

Authorities say Martin and her older brother, Allen, were headed back to their Richmond Hill home following a family event at about 6 p.m. According to the incident report, the two were traveling northbound on Little Neck Road, near I-95, when the brother suddenly lost control of the vehicle.

The report said "he tried to push on the brakes when the car started sliding across the roadway" but it slid across the southbound lane and off the roadway, colliding into trees.

When the vehicle finally rested, Allen Martin reportedly pulled his sister from the wreckage and began administering CPR. A Medstar helicopter arrived shortly to airlift her from the scene. The driver was then reportedly transported to Memorial by ambulance. No other individuals or vehicles were listed as being involved.

The news began to circulate among students and faculty Monday, prompting one student to paint "We miss you already Emily" on the back of their vehicle.
