An accident involving a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle Wednesday evening shut down Interstate 95 North.

According to Richmond Hill Police Traffic Accident Investigator Luke Harris, the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when a tractor trailer and a car collided near mile marker 88, causing both vehicles to overturn.

Harris said the driver of the tractor trailer was treated at the scene for minor injures.  The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah with non-life threatening injures.

Harris said the interstate will be closed till the vehicles are removed.
