Winter is expected back across Georgia, including our coastal area, this evening. It could stay the weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that temperatures will drop to near freezing overnight. A cold front is expected to sweep across the state and, as it does, winds are expected to become blustery.

The Associated Press reports that the service has issued a wind advisory for much of the state until midnight. The closest to us that wind is expected to cause problems is in the Vidalia area, though boaters are being advised to be wary of the wind here too.

Temperatures will get into the mid- to low-30s tonight. Friday, the high will be in the low- to mid-50s and the Friday-Saturday night low will dip into the 20s. There will be a slight warming Saturday and Sunday, but lows will still be in the low- to mid-30s.

Monday's Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday should see highs in the 60s and the lows in the 40s. Clear skies are expected for Monday morning's parade in Hinesville.
