Welch, Kornegay get top RHP honor from peers

RichmonDelete - Merge Upd Hill Primary School surprised Aura Welch and Sara Kornegay on Monday when they were named the teacher and paraprofessional of the year, respectively.
Welch teaches art at RHPS and said she was honored to be selected the Teacher of the Year.
“It is wonderful to be recognized in my profession for something that I love to do,” she said. “For my colleagues to have selected me to represent Richmond Hill Primary School as their Teacher of the Year is very special.”
Welch, who has taught art in Bryan County Schools for five years now, said working with her students all day long is her favorite part of the job.
Kornegay, a first-grade paraprofessional, said she was thrilled to have been selected but also felt honored because she was nominated by her peers.
