Webster University sponsors an annual university-wide community-service day in partnership with local agencies and nonprofit organizations.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni work in teams on projects that matter to the communities in which Webster campuses are located.

This year, as part of the annual Webster Works Worldwide community service event, Webster University Fort Stewart, in conjunction with the Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., are hosting a female-empowerment conference for local area girls in grades six through 12. The conference is called “Our Daughters, Ourselves.”

The aim of this conference is to foster a smooth transition from girlhood to womanhood.

As such, participants will attend workshops aimed at equipping them with tools to promote healthy minds, bodies and spirits and increase their financial and educational well-being.

Because of limited space, this conference is limited to 100 attendees. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the application deadline is Wednesday.

While this conference is being offered at no charge to participants, each girl is ask to bring one new, unwrapped toy to help kick off Webster’s participation in the Toys for Tots campaign for the Hinesville/Fort Stewart area.

For an application, contact Sandra Jenkins at 912-876-8080 or sandrajenkins04@webster.edu, or Petula Gomillion at 912-876-3816 or dst_hac@yahoo.com.
