The two men who died in a single-vehicle accident on Oak Level Road Saturday night have been identified as Steven Robinson and Dominick Bush, both 21, of Richmond Hill, according to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred about 8 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Oak Level Road just east of Mitchell Lane when the vehicle driven by Robinson veered off the south shoulder, struck a tree head-on and burst into flames, officials said.

By Sunday afternoon a small memorial had been set up at the base of the charred tree with flowers and two white crosses. A gray piece of the vehicle with the word “Camaro” on it was propped against the tree. A woman there paying her respects who knew both men said Robinson had just recently gotten the car.

The investigation continues and law enforcement officials are waiting results from toxicology reports.
