System's top teachers take one more bow

Nine Bryan County teachers were recognized Thursday by the Board of Education for their selection as the 2011-2012 teachers of the year for their respected schools.

Each teacher was introduced by the principal of the school and also presented with bags full of goodies and an engraved award to note their achievement.

Recognized were Lanier Primary School first grade teacher Lori Edwards; Bryan County Elementary fifth grade teacher Katelyn Finnegan; Bryan County Middle School eighth grade math teacher Ken Deal; and Richmond Hill Primary School art teacher Aura Welch.

Also recognized were Bryan County High School economics teacher Keith Corbin; Richmond Hill Elementary School special education teacher Jennifer Kanode; George Washington Carver Elementary School physical education teacher Christy Crowley; Richmond Hill Middle School English teacher Germaine Nail; and Richmond Hill High School English teacher Elizabeth Bennett.
