Sheriff's blotter for Dec. 26
Crime-Scene-Tape

From Bryan County Sheriff’s Department reports:

Dec. 17

The following comes from a deputy’s narrative in a report of simple battery in Ellabell.

“Complainant stated that the offender’s dog was chasing one of his chickens. Complainant stated that the offender came onto his property and punched him in the mouth. R/O (reporting officer) did observe that the complainant had a small cut on the left corner of his upper and lower lip. R/O spoke with the suspected offender and he stated that his mother called him and told him that the complainant was chasing the offender’s dog with a gun because the dog was chasing the complainant’s chickens. The suspected offender stated that he hit the complainant because during an exchange of words the complainant shoved him with both hands hitting him the chest.”

“R/O spoke with other people who observed what happened, but no one wanted to say what happened, no one saw anything.”

The deputy told everyone how to get a warrant and how to get a copy of the report.

Dec. 17

This report was filed as a case of criminal trespass. It also took place in Ellabell.

“Complainant stated that sometime during the night someone egged her home. Complainant stated that they have had no problems with anybody in area. Complainant stated that they have video cameras at the front of the home but there was nothing on the vide except two patrol cars, one at (2 a.m.) and one at (2:30 a.m.).”
The complainant asked for a report in case it happened again.

Dec. 22

This report of damage to property was filed by an HOA president in a Richmond Hill neighborhood.

“(Complainant) stated that he was informed on this date there was damage to the community pools fence,” the report said. “Upon arrival I could see what appeared to be holes in each of the fence rails (approximately 14 rails). It appears that someone had hit each rail with a hammer and knocked a hole in them. (Complainant) stated that he had seen the fence the day prior and it was not damaged. The community park building has a camera but (complainant) is unsure at this time if it has evidence of who caused the damage.”
