Severe weather threat passes; rain expected today in Bryan County

After Wednesday’s wild weather with tornado watches and warnings and one that touched down on Fort Stewart, the main threat from Mother Nature in Bryan County today is rain.

The National Weather Service Office in Charleston’s hazardous weather outlook for today says there is a chance of at least minor flooding concerns with ponding of water on roads and nuisance flooding caused by continued rainfall today and into early tonight on top of already-saturated ground.

The forecast calls for highs in the upper 50s to low 60s this morning and 100 percent chance of rain with the temperature falling throughout the day to the low 50s by early evening. Rain chances will continue to be high through the early evening and then diminish. By Friday, expect sunny skies with highs in the mid-50s.
