While many Bryan County families will gather around Christmas trees and dinner tables Sunday with family, there are some residents who will celebrate the holiday a little differently.
Several staff members will be on hand bright and early Sunday morning at Magnolia Manor on the Coast in Richmond Hill to make sure the residents are cheerful and that they have a Christmas meal to enjoy.
One of those staff members, dietary aide Mary Zimmerman, said she enjoys working the holiday and helping lift the spirits of those who can’t be around their own families.
“A lot of our residents go off with their family, but there are still some that don’t have family or their family lives so far away they can’t be here,” she said.
Zimmerman will join several other staff members and kitchen manager Barbara Ward to prepare Cornish hens, ham and other delectable holiday goodies for residents.
