The 15th annual John Stevens-Good Ol’ Boys Santa Scramble raised nearly $18,000 for the Bryan County Children’s Fund.

The tournament was held Nov. 7 at Sterling Links Golf Course and 24 teams enjoyed a day of golf and great food provided by Smokin’ Pig. Many businesses and individuals contributed to making the day a success, organizers said.

First place low gross winners were Chris Darieng, Chris Davis, Len Poppell and Jacob Hitt. Second place low gross finishers were Jamie McKenzie, Kenny King, Walter Hagan and Josh Williams.

Taking first in low net competition was the foursome of Mike Volen, Keith Royal, Pete Gagne and Bart Knock. Second was the team of Brad Brookshire, John Reynolds, Steve Croy and John Hopkins.

The tournament is the single largest fundraiser for the BCCF, which provides Christmas gifts for kids in Bryan County who might not otherwise receive them.
