This is an exciting time for our Richmond Hill YMCA! A 4,000 square foot expansion to our current 10,000 square foot facility will open this fall! The additional space is greatly needed to offer more room for group fitness classes, a larger spin room, and a multi-purpose room. More programs and classes will be added, and more people will be served as the Y becomes an even greater asset to our Richmond Hill community!

In July, the South State Bank offered our Y a lead challenge gift of $50,000 to help fund this expansion. Jon Seagraves, South State Bank Bryan County Market President, stated: "The YMCA is an important part of the Richmond Hill community and we are excited to be a part of their expansion plans. To help get the project started, South State Bank will match every dollar raised up to $50,000. We encourage other businesses to support this effort, as it is an important part of the future growth and success of our community."

By the end of August, donations from local businesses, individuals, YMCA members, staff, and board members exceeded the challenge, and $102,312 was raised!

The community’s generous donations demonstrate the value that the Y brings to Richmond Hill. With a mission "to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all," our impact is felt in the lives of individuals and families who participate daily in the programs and activities provided by the YMCA.

Lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together! That’s why, at the Richmond Hill Y, we are committed to strengthening our community. The Y makes sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Families and individuals who are in need of financial assistance can receive help to participate at the Y.

The Y brings people together so that our community is more connected. As the Richmond Hill Y continues its tremendous growth in memberships from about 225 people five years ago, to nearly 3,500 people today, we encourage our community to support the much-needed expansion to the current facility.

To date, approximately $64,000 is still needed to fulfill our goal to raise $170,000. The Capital Campaign ends September 30. Every dollar given to the Y is significant. Donations are 100% tax deductible. Pledge forms are available at the Richmond Hill Y, and pledges can be made over a three-year period. Donors are recognized in the Annual Report, electronic newsletter, and a large wall plaque that will remain in the Y.

THANK YOU to those individuals and businesses who have already made donations to help fund this expansion! We deeply appreciate and value every dollar that has been given to this important project. Be assured that the Y builds strong individuals, families, and communities. Share the vision and be a part of the future growth of our community!
