Richmond Hill Middle School is one of 24 teams statewide that will compete in Saturday’s Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Academic Bowl for Middle Grades state competition at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.

RHMS advanced from the Region 12 competition Jan. 9 at West Chatham Middle School in Pooler. The regional winners will have a round-robin tournament Saturday morning to determine the eight teams that will be in the single-elimination finals Saturday afternoon.

The RHMS team is coached by Sherry Oddi, Dana Letson, Cheryl Flanagan and Sibyl Finnegan.

The tourney has teams of students tackling questions in areas such as Georgia history, math, science, literature and the performing arts to score points. More than 2,000 students compete at the local, regional and state levels of the PAGE competition.
