Richmond Hill Middle School band to get its own song

One day, members of the Richmond Hill Middle School band will literally be playing their own song.
The Bryan County Board of Education learned at its regular meeting Thursday that the school’s band boosters have hired noted composer David Gillingham to write a song especially for the band.
“This is the first time he’ll do a piece for a middle school band,” said band director Alisha Bowden, whose announcement followed an inspiring performance by the school’s chorus in the RHMS media center.
Bowden said Gillingham, a professor of music at Central Michigan, is so booked up he won’t get to a piece for RHMS until April 2015.
